Musical Madness 2010 with
the Inner City All Stars

The Longview Symphony kicks off a new, out-of-symphony experience with Musical Madness.  This concert will be held in March of each  year and will celebrate a variety of music to further the music experiences in our community.  The Inner City All Stars will start this new tradition with  a big, bold New Orleans brass sound, mixed with other music types.

The band, which is based in Denton, Texas, is led by Calvin Sexton, who holds a degree in music from the University of North Texas. 

The Inner City All Stars exist to entertain, educate and energize new life into the jazz experience, fusing eclectic music and a fresh interpretation of the traditional brass band.

The Inner City All Stars will hold educational workshops for high school music students before the concert.  Students from the workshops will participate in the concert--a wonderful opportunity to hear a music style new to Longview with participation from local students.

The band brought down the house at NBC's "Showtime at the Apollo", the 2008 "Best Band" Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities, and performed at The Dallas Museum of Art Jazz under the Stars Series as well as other locations across the US.
