Pleasant, Diana, Big Sandy and surrounding areas.
Auditions
- All new string, wind and percussion players must audition before being accepted into a group. Students should prepare a major and minor scale and a performance piece that shows their skill level. Students will also be asked to sight read some orchestral material.
- String players who have not played with LAYSO in the past 12 months please call Stanton Nash at 903-452-0907 or email

- Wind and percussion rehearsals begin in October following the bulk of the marching band season.

Tuition
- The tuition is $85 per semester for the first student in a family. The second student in a family is only $75.00, the third student in a family is $65.00, and so forth. The tuition now includes reception fees. There is a reduced flat rate tuition fee of $50.00 for wind and percussion players for the fall semester.
- We try to keep tuition costs to a minimum. Tuition only covers a very small portion of the operating costs of the orchestras. However, scholarships are available for students who are unable to provide their own tuition. Please contact Stanton Nash at
